Man Utd tracking Davies transfer

Manchester United could make an approach for Alphonso Davies this summer as the club look to strengthen in the left-back area.

Davies has long-been tracked by United and the club are said to be ‘convinced’ that the Canadian has the ‘quality and experience’ to thrive in the Premier League, according to SportsBoom.

However, with Davies contracted to Bayern Munich until 2030, the German giants could demand a fee in excess of £70 million (€81m.)

United are looking for more reliable cover in defence and could be willing to gamble on Davies despite the 25-year-old only making four Bundesliga starts this season.

Man Utd target Nottingham Forest star Murillo after new injury blow

Manchester United have reacted to news of Lisandro Martinez’s latest injury setback by drawing up a list of summer centre-back targets that is headlined by Nottingham Forest’s Murillo, a player who would offer an instant upgrade on anything the Red Devils already have.

Martinez has missed recent games with a calf problem, following on from an ACL injury that he suffered last season. There is uncertainty over when the Argentine will return and so Man Utd bosses are looking at solutions in the transfer market, The i Paper reports.

Nottingham Forest’s Murillo is Man Utd’s top option ahead of the summer window, with the mentality of the 23-year-old Brazilian particularly admired behind the scenes at Old Trafford.

Murillo is seen as the “perfect blend” of youth and Premier League experience and follows the same type of logic that saw the Red Devils snap up Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo from Wolves and Brentford respectively in 2025 – deals that have proven an undoubted success.

It is added that the former Corinthians players is seen as “the type of player who can handle the big stage, without the baggage that comes with more marquee names”.

Zirkzee set to leave Man Utd

Joshua Zirkzee is eyeing an exit from Manchester United this summer after failing to break into the first team under Michael Carrick.

Zirkzee had been considering leaving United in January due to his lack of first team opportunities but opted to try and fight for his place despite interest from teams in Italy.

However, the 24-year-old has only played 28 minutes under Carrick and The Sun report that Zirkzee is now ready to end his time at Old Trafford.

Zirkzee is set to miss out on a place in the Netherlands squad for the 2026 World Cup and a parting of ways is seen as the best solution for both the player and the club.

Chelsea join Adams transfer battle

Manchester United are among the sides interested in signing Tyler Adams this summer after his impressive performances for Bournemouth.

The American international, who is expected to feature at the 2026 World Cup, had come close to joining Chelsea prior to his €27m move to the Cherries in 2023 but he failed a medical.

According to CaughtOffside, the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool are also eyeing Adams up as a potential bargain addition to their midfield, with Bournemouth said to be open to offers of more than €35m.

A deal is thought to be unlikely until after the World Cup but much will depend on Bournemouth’s asking price for the 27-year-old, who is entering the final two years of his contract.

Celtic star tipped to join Man Utd

Celtic star Benjamin Nygren has been tipped to complete a blockbuster move to Manchester United following an excellent debut season in Glasgow.

The 24-year-old, who arrived at Celtic Park from Nordsjaelland for a fee of €1.5 million in July, has scored 19 goals and provided seven assists in 47 appearances across all competitions so far this season, and he has established himself as an integral player under interim boss Martin O’Neill.

Rumours have hinted that Nygren is poised to earn a move to the English top flight this summer and former Arsenal star Anders Limpar believes that his compatriot would be a huge success at Man Utd if the Red Devils opt to finalise a surprise transfer.

“He is a prospect and he's going to get better,” Limpar admitted when asked about Nygren (via The Scotsman).

“Imagine him playing for a top Premier League side. I'm not saying that Celtic are not top side but they are in Scotland. Nygren could play for Manchester United and he’d probably score 20 goals a season in the Premier League. He's that good.”
