Chelsea Transfer News Today: Blues target Arsenal star after PSG make contact over Fernandez deal
All the latest transfer news, rumours and gossip from Stamford Bridge, with the latest update on Enzo Fernandez and Riccardo Calafiori.
PSG in contact with Enzo Fernandez
Paris Saint-Germain remain ‘in contact’ with Enzo Fernandez and could test Chelsea’s resolve over a transfer this summer, according to L’Equipe.
Fernandez has been amongst Chelsea’s best performers this season and the 25-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid as well as PSG.
Chelsea have no desire to sell Fernandez and would demand significantly more than the record €121 million they paid for the midfielder in 2023.
However, it is claimed that Fernandez could look to force an exit if Chelsea miss out on Champions League football for next season, with the 25-year-old said to still be disappointed by the sacking of Enzo Maresca, whom he shared a close relationship with.
PSG have long-admired Fernandez and are alleged to still be in constant contact with the player’s representatives over a move, although the Argentine star is thought to prefer a move to Real Madrid if he does look to leave Chelsea.
Arsenal star Calafiori wanted by Chelsea
Calafiori, 23, was earmarked as a key target by the Chelsea hierarchy in 2024, with the Blues eager to bring him to west London following his performances for Bologna in Serie A and his form during the European Championship.
The Italian eventually joined Arsenal but he has fallen behind Piero Hincapie in the pecking order in recent weeks and has only amassed 163 minutes of action in the Gunners’ last nine matches across the Premier League and Champions League.
Chelsea have added Calafiori to their 2026 transfer wishlist according to a shock report from Blues journalist Simon Phillips, who claims that Liam Rosenior’s side are exploring a potential summer move for the Arsenal star.
It’s stated that Calafiori could be open to leaving the Gunners if a suitable bid arrives and the Italian is reportedly eager to play consistent football as a central defender, rather than at left-back.
Blues lead Thiago race
The 24-year-old has enjoyed a sublime season under Keith Andrews, scoring 18 goals in 29 Premier League appearances, and his form has unsurprisingly resulted in significant transfer interest from a number of English top flight clubs.
Thiago has been earmarked as a top transfer target by the Chelsea hierarchy and the west London giants are ready to step up their pursuit of his signature following an anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered by FC Porto striker Samu Aghehowa.
That is according to TEAMtalk, who claim that Thiago has been on Chelsea’s radar for several years, with the club now willing to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea get Disasi sale boost
Chelsea could finally see Axel Disasi leave the club for good this summer with West Ham open to turning his loan spell into a permanent move after a bright start.
Disasi joined the Hammers in January having not played for Chelsea in more than a year and being told he has no future at the club, prompting his inclusion in the ‘bomb squad’ that was banished to the reserves during the summer.
According the Daily Mail, Disasi has impressed West Ham officials both on and off the pitch since his arrival and the club are willing to sign him permanently in the summer if the good spell continues.
However, West Ham are adamant they will not pay anywhere close to the €45m Chelsea spent on Disasi in 2023 and a deal would only be possible for a significantly lower fee.
Chelsea join Adams transfer battle
Chelsea are among the sides interested in signing Tyler Adams this summer after his impressive performances for Bournemouth.
The American international, who is expected to feature at the 2026 World Cup, had come close to joining Chelsea prior to his €27m move to the Cherries in 2023 but he failed a medical.
According to CaughtOffside, the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool are also eyeing Adams up as a potential bargain addition to their midfield, with Bournemouth said to be open to offers of more than €35m.
A deal is thought to be unlikely until after the World Cup but much will depend on Bournemouth’s asking price for the 27-year-old, who is entering the final two years of his contract.
