Anthony Gordon responds to 'load of rubbish' Liverpool and Arsenal rumours
Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon has insisted that he will not be affected by rumoured transfer interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.
The England international has emerged as a €95 million target for both Premier League giants ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, with Mikel Arteta and Arne Slot eager to bolster their attacking ranks with the 24-year-old.
Gordon was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool following the 2024 European Championship and he later admitted that his form dipped after the transfer fell through. However, the ex-Everton man is determined to avoid suffering a similar fate this year.

Gordon scored four times during Newcastle’s 6-1 win over Qarabag in the first leg of their Champions League play-off tie on Wednesday evening to take his tally to 14 goals across all competitions so far this season.
Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe (13) is the only player with more Champions League goals than Gordon (10) this term and although he has struggled in the Premier League in recent months, the England winger is firmly on the transfer radar of both Arsenal and Liverpool, as per reports.
Despite this, the 24-year-old is yet to think about a potential summer move.
Anthony Gordon responds to Arsenal and Liverpool interest
After Newcastle’s demolition of Qarabag, Gordon told reporters: “It’s the same old, same old. I haven’t heard anything, they might want to tell me before they tell you [the media].
“I have gone through enough transfer stuff now to know that it is all a load of rubbish. I am focused on me and focused on the team, I am focused on right now.
“You look too far in the future and you start to underperform. And believe me I have done that [before] and I am not going to do that now.”
In addition to Gordon, Liverpool have also been linked with a blockbuster move for RB Leipzig starlet Yan Diomande as they look to land a new left winger amid Cody Gakpo’s struggles so far this season.
