Arsenal on the verge of announcing record-breaking deal
Arsenal are reportedly on the verge of announcing a “record-breaking” new deal for star player Bukayo Saka.
The England international has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current contract at the Emirates Stadium, but an agreement on fresh terms is set to be finalised shortly.
Saka and his representatives have been locked in lengthy contract extension talks over the past few months, and TEAMtalk have confirmed that he is now ready to sign Arsenal’s latest proposal, which will see him become the first player in the club’s history to earn £300,000 per week.
The 24-year-old is set to become the latest Arsenal star to sign a new deal at the club, with the likes of David Raya, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri and Leandro Trossard all penning improved terms since the beginning of 2025.
Furthermore, the Gunners are also in negotiations with Jurrien Timber, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard over new contracts as they look to secure the futures of their most important players.
Real Madrid have previously been linked with a blockbuster move for Saka, however rumours of an exit will be put to bed when his new deal, which is set to run until 2031, is announced shortly.
Bukayo Saka to extend Arsenal contract
Confirmation that Saka is close to signing a new contract at Arsenal comes after Gunners boss Mikel Arteta revealed that his star winger is keen to extend his stay at the club.
“What Bukayo has transmitted to me and the club, and Emeka [Obasi, Saka's agent) as well, is that they want to continue to be here,” Arteta told reporters in November.
“It's a very healthy and powerful relationship. The journey that he has had at the club and what he has become is something we want to maintain.
“That is something that is going to leave a legacy at this club and he needs to fulfil that role.”
