Transfer Rumours: Chelsea edge closer to first January signing as record offer prepared
The January transfer window is edging ever closer and clubs across the world are subsequently stepping up their efforts in the market.
Below, FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours and gossip from Sunday 23 November, including the latest updates on Robinio Vaz and Joao Neves.
Chelsea eye first January signing
Chelsea are in talks with Marseille striker Robinio Vaz as they look to finalise an agreement to sign him during the upcoming January transfer window.
Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Napoli are all keeping tabs on his development under Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi, however Chelsea are currently the frontrunners in the race for his signature, according to a report from AfricaFoot.
Chelsea have reportedly made “preliminary contact” with his representatives, while they are also in talks with Marseille as they look to finalise a deal to bring the France U20 international to Stamford Bridge in January
Joao Neves to Liverpool?
Liverpool are ready to submit a €160 million offer for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Joao Neves, according to a sensational report in Spain.
The Portugal star has established himself as one of the best players in world football over the past year and Spanish publication Fichajes claim that Liverpool are preparing a Premier League record offer worth €160m as they attempt to sign the PSG superstar.
Luis Enrique’s side, however, have no intention of sanctioning a sale and they are instead determined to retain Neves’ services.
Karim Adeyemi wants Arsenal move
Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi has reportedly made it clear that he would like to complete a move to Arsenal next year.
Man Utd are firmly in the race to land Adeyemi in 2026 and they have even initiated contact with his agent, Jorge Mendes, in recent weeks as they look to gauge the possibility of a deal.
However, the Dortmund star has made it clear that he would prefer to join Arsenal next summer, as per The Mirror.
Scott McTominay truth
Fabrizio Romano has rubbished reports that Scott McTominay could return to the Premier League in January.
Arsenal, Everton and his former club Man Utd have all been linked with a move for the Scotland star during the upcoming winter window, but Romano has dismissed such reports as "fantasy".
McTominay remains happy at Napoli and he will reportedly not push to leave the club next year.
Man Utd in Joao Gomes talks
Manchester United are reportedly in advanced talks with Wolverhampton Wanderers as they look to agree a deal to bring Joao Gomes to the club in January.
That is according to Trivela, who state that a deal is close to being concluded, with Gomes set to cost around €50m.
The Brazilian has been linked with an Old Trafford switch for several months and Man Utd have seemingly stepped up their pursuit of his signature ahead of the winter transfer window.
