Joshua Zirkzee has informed Man Utd that he wants to join Serie A leaders AS Roma on loan in the January transfer window, having not received any prolonged run of fixtures under Ruben Amorim.

Roma are proposing a loan deal with a permanent element that would come into effect should they manage to qualify for the Champions League, which seems a given on current form.

Man Utd's stance is unclear, having previously been reluctant to sanction a loan exit. If he continues to struggle in the absence of Benjamin Sesko, he may be allowed to pursue a move away.

Fabrizio Romano has stoked rumours that Karim Adeyemi could end up at Man Utd eventually by revealing that the Borussia Dortmund winger is keen on moving to the Premier League.

Adeyemi previously fielded strong interest from Serie A, but his heart is set on a transfer to England if he is to leave Dortmund, according to Romano.

A final decision on his future has not yet been made, but contract talks continue to prove difficult, so it is possible that the Man Utd-linked winger could be on the move in the summer.

Romano has also provided an update on the future of Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski, another player associated with a transfer to Man Utd in 2026.

The Pole is out of contract in the summer, and there are currently no suggestions that Barcelona are willing to hand him a new deal. A January exit is out of the question, as is retirement.

However, Romano insists that Lewandowski remains fully focused on the Catalan club and will not choose his next employer anytime soon. He will not make a decision until after the January window.

Man Utd are planning to park young left-back Diego Leon at sister club Nice in January in a bid for him to get senior minutes under his belt ahead of the World Cup.

Despite not playing for Man Utd, the 18-year-old made his debut for Paraguay in October and wants to be on the plane for the tournament in the US, Canada and Mexico.

Unlike with Zirkzee and Kobbie Mainoo, Man Utd are willing to loan the youngster out, although Nice may be a contentious choice due to some tension between the two clubs over a lack of proper cooperation.

Man Utd are trailing Celtic in the race to sign teenage sensation Michael Noonan from Shamrock Rovers, who has broken several records since bursting onto the scene.

The 17-year-old won't be able to move to the UK until he turns 18 next summer, but a string of clubs are chasing his signature. In 2024, reports suggested that he was close to agreeing a deal with Man City.

However, now it is Celtic who are leading the race, while Man Utd are still trying to muscle their way past the Hoops in a bid to land one of Ireland's biggest prospects.
