Man Utd contacted over Adeyemi transfer

Manchester United are ready to pounce on the uncertainty surrounding Karim Adeyemi’s future at Borussia Dortmund after the winger’s recent fallout with manager Niko Kovac.

Adeyemi was criticised by Kovac for his behaviour after he threw a bottle towards the bench following his substitution during Dortmund’s win over Köln last month. Tension grew again last weekend when the 23-year-old’s display against Hamburg sparked visible frustration from his manager on the touchline.

According to German outlet BILD, discussions over Adeyemi’s long-term future are now “in full swing”. The forward is under contract until 2027, but his agent Jorge Mendes is reportedly pushing for a new deal that includes an €80 million release clause.

Dortmund, however, are reluctant to insert any release clause into a new agreement and could instead consider selling Adeyemi in the coming months. Manchester United are believed to be at the front of the queue, with the club’s growing relationship with Mendes seen as a key factor.

Mendes has already overseen moves to Old Trafford for several of his clients in recent years, including Leny Yoro and Manuel Ugarte, and is said to have alerted United to Adeyemi’s situation, with an enquiry reported to have been submitted.

Sancho Dortmund links ridiculed

Speculation that Jadon Sancho could be recalled from his loan at Aston Villa and sold to Dortmund have been laughed off by German media.

Reports emerged this week that Sancho could terminate his loan early at Villa after struggling to break into their team this season but United would only sanction that decision if the 25-year-old left permanently at the same time.

The suggestion was that Dortmund could target their former player for a third spell but that has been rubbished by German reporters Oliver Muller and Manfred Sadlbauser.

“It’s like Groundhog Day every six months,” Sedlbauer said. “Shortly before every transfer window, it has become customary in Dortmund to discuss Jadon Sancho.”

"He's no longer a hot commodity in the transfer market," Muller added, prompting Sedlbauer to quip: "Then BVB wouldn't really have much to lose."

"It's true that some fans long for it," Muller admits. "But it's not a realistic scenario. The fans always hope that the sight of the Phoenix-See [a lake in Dortmund] will ease his tension. But that's nothing more than a fairytale."

Gallagher could replace Mainoo at Old Trafford

Manchester United could renew their interest in Conor Gallagher in January, especially if Kobbie Mainoo leaves the club.

United had considered a move for Gallagher in the summer but the deal was not financially viable for Amorim’s side at the time, however they could now look towards a loan move in January.

Much would depend on Mainoo’s future, with the youngster keen on leaving the club for more minutes, but United are reluctant to sanction his departure on loan.

However, should United and Atletico Madrid come to a financial agreement, Gallagher could move to Old Trafford in January, allowing Mainoo to find a move elsewhere, with Napoli keen on a loan deal.

Romano gives update on Casemiro future

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Man Utd will hold conversations about a new contract but it will require the 33-year-old taking a wage cut.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: “There will be a conversation about his contract because at the moment, the numbers of his contract, salary, is way too high for Man Utd to extend that. So, they need to find a solution on the contract - this is for Casemiro and for Harry Maguire – or the player could leave on a free.

"Casemiro always received many proposals, especially from the Middle East, especially from Saudi. Casemiro remains a target for many clubs there, but at the moment, it depends on financials, on the salary.

"Casemiro is fully focused on the pitch now. He wants to help Man Utd in this moment, but his situation will depend on the salary. Amorim would love to continue with Casemiro, but again, this depends on the salary discussions."

Man Utd youngster set for January exit

United summer signing Sekou Kone looks set to leave the club on loan in January after struggling to make an impact at Old Trafford so far.

Kone arrived as a youth signing from Malian side Guidars in August but a series of injuries have prohibited the 19-year-old from making a breakthrough for United.

According to journalist Christopher Michel, United are planning on loaning Kone out in January so that the young midfielder can gain professional playing time elsewhere.
