Liverpool are reportedly among the clubs interested in signing Celtic wonderkid Dara Jikiemi next summer after being impressed by his performances so far this season.

The 15-year-old central defender is regarded as one of the top young prospects in Scottish football and his development at Celtic Park is being closely monitored by a number of clubs in the Premier League ahead of 2026.

Jikeimi, who is currently the captain of the Scotland U15 side, has been added to Liverpool’s transfer wishlist and academy chiefs at Anfield are “pushing” to complete a deal for the teenager next year, as per The Daily Record.

Arne Slot’s side have sent scouts to watch the centre-back in action on a number of occasions so far this season and they have reportedly been left thoroughly impressed by his potential.

Jikeimi is able to sign professional terms with Celtic next summer, while he would only be able to sign a scholarship deal with Liverpool due to Premier League rules stating that players must be 17 years old in order to sign a professional contract.

However, it’s reported that Celtic are aware of Liverpool’s growing interest in the 15-year-old, with fellow English top flight club Nottingham Forest also closely monitoring Jikiemi as they eye a possible transfer in 2026.

Andy Robertson to move in the opposite direction?

News that Jikiemi may be set to secure a move to Liverpool next year comes following reports that Reds defender Andrew Robertson could complete a Bosman transfer to Celtic Park.

The Scotland international is a boyhood Celtic fan and although he has played a significant role at Anfield this season, amid Milos Kerkez’s struggles, contract extension talks are yet to heat up and he will be available as a free agent in July.

Robertson has admitted that he is relaxed about his current contract situation at Liverpool, with rumours suggesting he may sign fresh terms at the club, but Celtic are reportedly eager to reach an agreement for him to return to Scotland.
