The 10 youngest players in Premier League history
Arsenal wonderkid Ethan Nwaneri is the youngest ever player to feature in the Premier League.
The Gunners academy graduate broke Harvey Elliott’s record as the youngest Premier League player of all time when he made a surprise substitute appearance for Arsenal against Brentford back in September 2022.
The Englishman was just 15 years, 5 months and 28 days old when he replaced Fabio Vieira in stoppage time at the Brentford Community Stadium, and his record is unlikely to be beaten anytime soon.
Fellow Arsenal youngster Max Dowman became the second-youngest player in Premier League history when he featured off the bench against Leeds United in August 2025. He was just 15 years, 7 months and 23 days old when he came on for Noni Madueke, and he marked his highly-anticipated senior debut by winning a penalty in stoppage time.
Jeremy Monga is in third place after making his Premier League debut for Leicester City aged 15 years, 8 months and 28 days. The England youngster played a total of seven times in the top flight during the 2024-25 season, before establishing himself as even more of a regular following the Foxes’ relegation to the Championship.
The aforementioned Elliott is the fourth-youngest player to ever play in the Premier League. He set a new record when he featured for Fulham against Wolverhampton Wanderers in May 2019, aged 16 years and 1 month, but he has since dropped down the order.
In fifth place is Matthew Briggs. He made his Premier League debut for Fulham at 16 years, 2 months and 7 days old versus Middlesbrough in May 2007, and he was the youngest player in the competition’s history for 12 years until he was usurped by Elliott.

Izzy Brown is the sixth-youngest Premier League player of all time after making his debut in the competition for West Bromwich Albion in May 2013. Brown was 16 years, 3 months and 27 days old when he featured against Wigan Athletic, and he joined Chelsea two months later.
He is narrowly ahead of Aaron Lennon (Leeds United), who is the seventh-youngest player to play in the Premier League at 16 years, 4 months and 7 days old.
Jose Baxter is eighth after making his Premier League debut for Everton against Blackburn Rovers at the age of 16 years, 6 months and 9 days back in August 2008.
Gary McSheffrey and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy were both 16 years, 6 months and 14 days old when they made their Premier League debuts, for Coventry and Aston Villa respectively, and they complete the top 10.
