Man Utd training ground in lockdown after fan enters and demands contract
Manchester United stars endured a bizarre situation this week which saw the club’s training ground locked down after an intruder tried to force his way into the Carrington complex.
United have been building momentum after winning three Premier League games in a row for the first time under Ruben Amorim since his appointment last November and there has been a surge of positivity and confidence around the club in recent weeks.
One fan seemingly took that feeling to heart, with Centre Devils reporting that a young man got into Carrington on Monday by pretending to security that he had a trial with the club.
The youngster is said to have caused a ‘stir’ and ‘demanded’ a contract from staff at the club, who quickly realised he was lying and escorted him out the premises.
There were some suggestions that the fan was a social media influencer recording a prank video after he had said phrases like “I can play in midfield” to try and convince staff of his credentials.
Fortunately the humour appears to not have been lost on United’s stars, with coaches and players said to have had a ‘good laugh’ when they heard of the situation before continuing on with their training regime.
United brush off distractions to finally move forward under Amorim
Amorim will be hoping the incident does not deter his player’s attentions ahead of their trip to Nottingham Forest this weekend as United look to continue their turnaround in recent weeks.
Having started the season with just one win in their opening five matches in all competitions, including a humiliating defeat to Grimsby in the EFL Cup.
However, they have won four of their five games since, with impressive victories over Chelsea and an away win at champions Liverpool, suggesting that Amorim may have finally achieved a breakthrough.
With United also only playing Premier League football until the FA Cup begins in January, Amorim will be grateful for the additional rest and preparation time ahead of the busy festive period in the coming months.
