Man Utd AGREE Mbeumo deal as Ratcliffe BUCKLES to extravagant Brentford demand
Manchester United have finally reached an agreement to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano report.
The Red Devils have spent six weeks negotiating over a deal for the Cameroon international but have finally come to an accord with their Premier League rivals.
Man Utd have agreed to pay €82 million (£71m) for the 25-year-old attacker, with €75m (£65m) of this coming as an upfront payment and the remainder in bonuses.
“Manchester United reach agreement with Brentford to sign Bryan Mbeumo,” Ornstein tweeted, adding that the deal is now being “finalised”.
Fabrizio Romano, meanwhile, gave the deal his famous ‘here we go!’, indicating that it is a matter of time before it is made official.
The agreement arrives just hours after it was reported that Brentford might sell Yoane Wissa to Newcastle United in a deal that would surely have ended Mbeumo’s hopes of a Man Utd move.

Mbeumo deal raises more Man Utd questions
While fans of the Old Trafford club will welcome news of the imminent signing of their second arrival of the summer transfer market, the support may also question why six weeks of negotiations have wound up with United paying what Brentford were demanding in the first place.
United are set to pay dramatically over the odds for Mbeumo, whose Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €45.7m – some €35m plus change short of what the Red Devils are about to pay.
Brentford pegged the sale of the former Troyes player at the same price that Man Utd paid to trigger the release clause of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this summer.
Although the noises coming from Old Trafford were that they would stick to their valuation of the forward and not pay over the odds for the attacker, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his side have buckled in negotiations.
