Rodrygo could shun interest from Arsenal and other Premier League sides to remain with Real Madrid this summer after reports in Spain suggested the Brazilian is ‘happy’ at the club now.

An underwhelming season where he scored just once after January led to Rodrygo questioning his future with Real, with the 24-year-old fearing he would never match the importance of teammates such as Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior.

The Brazilian’s existential crisis has led to a flurry of interest in signing him, primarily from England, with FootballTransfers learning that Mikel Arteta is fully convinced over a move for Rodrygo.

However, Arteta and Arsenal could be left disappointed, with Spanish outlet AS claiming that the arrival of new coach Xabi Alonso has made a ‘phenomenal’ impact on the winger.

The report details how Rodrygo has spent more time in the gym after a stomach virus before clearing his head with a trip to his native Brazil to clear his head, allowing him to return to Real with ‘high hopes’.

Rodrygo had insisted he would not make a decision over his future before speaking to Alonso and, while the pair will likely not have formal conversations until after the Club World Cup, the forward may be edging towards remaining in Real this summer, leaving Arsenal to look elsewhere.

Arsenal could focus attention on Sesko amid Rodrygo revelation

Real Madrid are thought to be open to Rodrygo’s departure for the right price, although they are likely to demand close to €100 million to part ways with an important player who still has three years remaining on his contract.

While Arsenal may be reluctant to pay such a fee, the Gunners had been establishing themselves as one of the favourites to sign Rodrygo, with defender Gabriel admitting he he had encouraged a club director about his ‘phenomenon’ international teammate.

Arsenal are looking to add pedigree and depth to their attacking contingent, which made Rodrygo a player whom the club felt could add a new dimension to their front line.

But, with FootballTransfers learning that they are moving towards a big money deal for Benjamin Sesko, a lucrative pursuit for another forward may be put on hold, especially if Rodrygo is to remain in Madrid this summer.
