Rashford repeat: Aston Villa in three-way battle for Man Utd flop Sancho

Aston Villa are interested in signing Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho, according to a report.
The 25-year-old has been forced to return to Old Trafford following his loan at Chelsea. Although the Blues were initially open to keeping Sancho around, his refusal to take a significant pay reduction ultimately left them no choice but to send him back.
Chelsea opted out of their purchase obligation for Sancho and incurred a €6 million penalty fee. Back on the books at Man Utd now, the former England international is not expected to be given a second chance.
Indeed, Sancho is to be offloaded this summer. On Tuesday, it was claimed that Man Utd had explored a potential swap deal with West Ham for Mohammed Kudus, but the Hammers turned down the approach because of concerns over Sancho's stylistic fit.
Back in April, FootballTransfers exclusively revealed that Wolves hold an interest in the winger. Now, another West Midlands club is said to be keen on Sancho.
Aston Villa want Sancho
According to TEAMtalk, Aston Villa are interested in Sancho as they look for a replacement for Marcus Rashford, who has similarly returned to Man Utd after a loan.
Due to missing out on the Champions League, Villa did not have the financial wiggle room to make Rashford's stay permanent. The Birmingham club have Profitability and Sustainability Rules concerns and simply didn't want to pay a €48m fee and a hefty salary.

This also casts doubt on their ability to sign Sancho, who is on a similarly huge wage. He currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €37.7m, so he will likely not be much cheaper than Rashford.
As things stand, the interest in Sancho is not advanced, and no talks have taken place so far. The report adds that Serie A giants AC Milan and Napoli are also keeping tabs on the situation, with the former having 'gathered information' on the Red Devils outcast.
