Real Betis have made a lowball offer for Manchester United winger Antony, but Spanish media claims that an agreement is 'destined' to be struck.

The Seville outfit want to keep the Brazilian permanently after he managed to revive his career on loan in the second half of the bygone season. Antony scored nine times and provided five assists in 26 appearances for Real Betis.

The LaLiga side are trying to exploit Man Utd's desperation to get rid of the 25-year-old as well as the close emotional bond they forged with the player by helping him fall back in love with football after his hugely disappointing stint at Old Trafford.

However, Betis' financial situation gives them very little wiggle room in what they can offer Man Utd, while the latter, naturally, believe that Antony's value has risen after his impressive six months in Seville.

It has been claimed that Man Utd could demand as much as €40 million or €50m for the tricky winger, which are figures Betis couldn't match in their wildest dreams.

Real Betis make Antony offer

Both ABC Sevilla and Diario de Seville report that Betis are exploring different 'formulas' for a potential deal to bring Antony back to the Estadio Villamarin.

One potential scenario could see Betis acquire only a certain percentage of the player's rights, thus essentially giving Man Utd a massive sell-on clause. A different option could be another loan, but this time with an obligation to purchase Antony.

In the latter case, Betis would try to negotiate a low guaranteed fee and offer Man Utd a sizeable sell-on percentage. Betis previously completed a similar deal for former Barcelona winger Ez Abde, with the Blaugrana due a whopping 50 per cent of his future cost.

The two outlets' reporting differs on whether or not Betis have already made an opening bid, but both are in agreement that the Spanish club are willing to go as high as €20m with their transfer fee.

It is claimed that there is 'a sense among both sides that they are destined to come to an understanding,' yet paradoxically it is also stated that Man Utd 'remain firm on a higher amount.'

Antony will surely have more suitors, and it is difficult to imagine that Man Utd would settle for just €20m. Last week, it was revealed that Juventus made a swap offer for Antony involving Douglas Luiz, but the deal collapsed when director Cristiano Giuntoli was sacked.
