Osimhen's loan stint at Galatasaray came to an end on Friday evening with a 2-0 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir. The Nigerian scored the Turkish champions' second goal of the game to conclude his successful season-long loan to Turkey.

All told, the Nigerian netted a whopping 37 goals in 41 appearances while also providing eight assists. He claimed the Super Lig's golden boot with 26 goals and won the Turkish cup in addition to the league title.

Galatasaray would love to make Osimhen's stay permanent, but it is understood that the 26-year-old will leave Napoli for a different club in the upcoming window. With the season now over for him, more clarity on his future should be provided in due course.

Liverpool to keep Osimhen in Europe?

It has recently been claimed that Osimhen is in advanced talks with Saudi giants Al-Hilal, who are scrambling to add big-name players in time for the Club World Cup.

Armed with the funds originally allocated for Mohamed Salah, the Riyadh side are pushing hard for Osimhen and Man Utd captain Bruno Fernandes.

However, there is a scenario in which Osimhen remains in Europe, and Liverpool could hold the key. Anfield Watch recently revealed that the Reds hold an interest in PSG striker Goncalo Ramos, who has struggled for consistent minutes under Luis Enrique.

Should Liverpool pursue a move for the Portuguese, it would force the Champions League finalists to dip into the striker market. Last summer, PSG wanted to sign Osimhen, and journalist Ben Jacobs reports that there is still latent interest in the Nigerian.

Fernandes to send Osimhen to Man Utd?

Similarly, it could be argued that Al-Hilal sealing a deal for Fernandes could give Man Utd the necessary funds to pursue Osimhen. The Red Devils have been snubbed by top target Liam Delap and remain in need of a reliable striker.

At present, Man Utd simply can't afford Osimhen, but the sale of Fernandes for a potentially record-breaking sum of money would drastically change the situation.

However, as things stand, a move to Old Trafford appears incredibly unlikely.

Indeed, this has been echoed by the aforementioned Ben Jacobs. Despite Osimhen's reported preference for a move to the Premier League, the journalist states that sources are 'downplaying' any genuine interest from Man Utd or Chelsea.

"If anything is to move, Osimhen to Saudi and specifically Al-Hilal is going to be very quick. If the door shuts on the 10th of June, when this mini window closes, then maybe there is a window of opportunity for others," Jacobs said.

"I'm not aware of much between Man Utd and Osimhen that is active at this point. I'm told more it's Juventus, possibly PSG and Saudi. Chelsea and Man Utd is more downplayed to me."
