Ruben Amorim is eager to bolster his first-team squad with the addition of a new centre forward during the upcoming summer transfer window, and Jackson has been identified as an alternative option to the likes of Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres.

Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap was considered to be a priority target for Man Utd, but the England U21 star is set to join Chelsea for €35 million after opting to secure a reunion with his former Manchester City youth coach Enzo Maresca.

However, Delap’s move to Stamford Bridge has raised doubts over Jackson’s future at the club, especially as the Blues continue to be linked with Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike.

FootballTransfers has been informed that Man Utd are monitoring his situation at Chelsea and that Amorim’s side have made an approach for the Senegal international as they look to improve the attacking options at Old Trafford.

Man Utd eye surprise Nicolas Jackson deal

Jason Wilcox is playing a key role in reshaping Man Utd’s recruitment model and he has identified Jackson as a suitable foil for Matheus Cunha, who will join the Red Devils from Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer.

We have been told that Wilcox is keen to bring in an athletic centre forward who is capable of stretching defences, and Jackson is viewed as a potential option by the Man Utd hierarchy.

However, Chelsea are reluctant to negotiate a sale as things stand.

Jackson’s current contract at Stamford Bridge isn’t due to expire until 2033, after signing a new deal last year, and he has been Chelsea’s first-choice centre forward since his arrival from Villarreal in 2023.

The 23-year-old has scored 30 goals in 78 appearances across all competitions for the Blues, including the second during their 4-1 win over Real Betis in the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday night.
