Former Borussia Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic is hoping to be in the frame for the Tottenham job should Ange Postecoglou be sacked.

It has been a dire season for Spurs, but it could yet have a slightly positive conclusion following their progression to the final of the Europa League. Winning Europe's secondary competition would secure a spot in next season's Champions League and paper over their horrendous Premier League campaign.

Tottenham currently languish in a scarcely believable 16th, and the pressure on Postecoglou is rampant. Should Spurs lose the final to Man Utd, he is all but guaranteed to get the sack.

However, even winning the Europa League may ultimately not save the Australian from the axe. His failure to adjust his intense style and vulnerable system, which have decimated his team and seen them ship 57 league goals, has left his future hanging by a thread.

Spurs are reportedly in talks to bring back former sporting director Fabio Paratici, and there is a feeling that he will make a change upon his return.

Terzic wants the Spurs job

The North London club have already been linked with a host of names such as Marco Silva and Oliver Glasner, but Sky Germany has now provided an interesting update on their potential options.

The outlet claims that former Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic is really keen on the Spurs job, although it is not clear if he is even a name currently under consideration by the club.

Last season, Terzic surprisingly led Dortmund to the final of the Champions League, but his relationship with his boyhood club wasn't always free from tension. The 42-year-old often faced criticism for his tactical naïveté - sometimes even from his own players, most notably Mats Hummels.

It therefore did not come as a shock when the two parties agreed to part ways in the summer. After a year away from the game, Terzic is now ready to return, and he is gunning for the Spurs job.

It is claimed that Terzic previously turned down offers from other teams, including Milan and West Ham, where he previously worked with Slaven Bilic. The Hammers' project didn't convince him, but he has no such reservations about Tottenham.
