Rayan Cherki to Man Utd? Bargain transfer confirmed

Manchester United are reportedly firmly in the race to sign Rayan Cherki following confirmation that he will leave Olympique Lyonnais this summer.
The France U21 international will depart the Groupama Stadium during the 2025 summer transfer window and an agreement has been reached for Lyon to sanction a sale if they receive an offer worth just €22.5 million.
Cherki scored 12 goals and provided 20 assists in 44 appearances across all competitions during the 2024-25 campaign and his form over the past 12 months has attracted significant interest from across Europe.
FootballTransfers understands that Manchester City have identified the Frenchman as a potential replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, amid concerns over the price it will cost to sign Bayer Leverkusen superstar Florian Wirtz, while Man Utd have expressed their interest in acquiring his signature too.
The Red Devils have been linked with a move for Cherki for several years, but they have now rekindled their interest and are set to pursue a deal this summer, as per French outlet Le Progres.
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are also reportedly interested in landing Cherki, although Man Utd are eager to finalise an agreement as they look to significantly bolster the attacking options available to Ruben Amorim next season.

Rayan Cherki to leave Lyon
Following Lyon’s final match of the season against Angers, Cherki confirmed that his 15-year association with the club will end this summer.
The Frenchman told reporters: “I think that was my last game with Lyon. I’m ready for the next step in my career.
“Thanks to OL, the coach, the staff, the president, my teammates, and all people at the club.”
Cherki, whose Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €37.2m, will leave Lyon having scored 29 goals in 185 first-team appearances for the club.
