Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee is being pursued by Inter, according to Italian media.

The Serie A powerhouse, who recently qualified for the final of the UEFA Champions League, consider the Dutch attacker a serious reinforcement for the attacking line, reports Corriere dello Sport.

The 23-year-old is said to be high on Inter's wish list, partly because of his technical qualities, physical strength and his previous strong performance in Serie A with Bologna.

Zirkzee made the switch from Bologna to Man Utd in the summer of 2024, which was then still led by Erik ten Hag.

However, his first season in England has been a difficult one, with just seven goals in 48 competitive appearances, failing to live up to the high expectations.

This has left his future at Old Trafford uncertain, leaving room for other clubs to strike.

Inter eye Zirkzee move

Inter see an opportunity to take advantage of the situation and initially hope to sign Zirkzee on loan, with an option to buy.

Man Utd paid around €40 million for his arrival a year ago, but according to Italian sources, are prepared to negotiate a lower transfer fee.

The club from Milan are therefore optimistic about a possible deal, although it remains to be seen if Man Utd are willing to sanction the exits of both Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund.

The Dane, too, is fielding genuine interest from Serie A clubs, and it has been confirmed that Man Utd will listen to offers for the striker.

Man Utd are closing in on the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, who would stylistically be a replacement for Zirkzee, while they are also hopeful of snapping up Liam Delap, who would take Hojlund's place.
