The Red Devils are on the verge of finalising a deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers superstar Matheus Cunha, after agreeing to trigger his €74m release clause, while they are also hoping to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap amid Rasmus Hojlund’s underwhelming recent form.

Mbeumo has emerged as a key target for Ruben Amorim’s side too and Man Utd have now lodged an initial bid worth €65m, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Amorim is determined to bolster his options in attack with numerous reinforcements this summer and the Man Utd boss is eager to add Mbeumo to his ranks following the Cameroon international’s mesmeric form during the 2024-25 campaign.

The 25-year-old has scored 19 goals and provided seven assists in the Premier League this season and his stock is now at an all-time high as a result.

By comparison, Man Utd have bagged just 42 goals in 37 Premier League matches as a team this term, the fifth-worst of any club in the division, and they are prioritising signing attacking reinforcements this summer in a bid to rectify this.

Amad Diallo to be impacted by Bryan Mbeumo pursuit?

Man Utd’s interest in Mbeumo could threaten Amad Diallo’s place in Amorim’s preferred starting XI, although the Ivory Coast international believes he is talented enough to remain a key player at Old Trafford.

“I believe in my potential,” Amad told the Manchester Evening News ahead of Man Utd’s Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur.

“I believe I can be one of the best in the world. I just have to give my best every game. That's it. But I think I believe in my potential.”

Amad has registered 19 goal contributions in 41 appearances for Man Utd this campaign and he was rewarded with a bumper new long-term contract in January.
