Manchester United have been urged to sell Bruno Fernandes this summer following news that Al-Hilal are willing to submit an offer of €120 million.

The 30-year-old has been Man Utd’s standout player since his arrival from Sporting CP in January 2020 and the Red Devils would’ve arguably been at risk of suffering relegation without the Portugal international this season.

However, a summer sale is reportedly on the cards as Man Utd look to raise funds after missing out on European football entirely this term.

Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal are reportedly set to offer Fernandes an annual salary of €77m in a bid to convince him to leave Man Utd, while they are ready to pay a fee of €120m to secure his services.

As a result, former Chelsea and Aston Villa forward Tony Cascarino believes it’s time for Man Utd to offload their club captain.

“I would snap their hand off,” he told talkSPORT. “It’s time for a number of big decisions to be made and he’s one of them. If they’re getting offered £100m for a 30-year-old, you take it. You absolutely take it.

“It’s money that you’ve got to use very wisely on people that you’ve identified to bring in. I’d take it immediately.

“If that was the offer, I think Man United would even have to push him a bit [towards the move] and say ‘we’re looking in a different direction now'.”

Bruno Fernandes offers to leave Man Utd

Cascarino’s comments come after Fernandes offered to leave Man Utd following their defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final.

“I have always been honest. I've always said I will be here until the club says to me that it's time to go,” Fernandes told reporters after the match.

“I'm eager to do more, to be able to bring the club the great days. In the day that the club thinks that I'm too much or it's time to part ways, football is like this, you never know it. But I've always said it and I keep my word in the same way.

“If the club thinks it's time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in or whatever, it's what it is, and football sometimes is like this.”

However, although Fernandes is open to leaving Old Trafford this summer, several Man Utd stars have reportedly “begged” him to reject interest from Saudi Arabia and remain at the club for at least another year.
