Manchester City have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Juventus defender Nicolo Savona ahead of the 2025 summer transfer window.

Pep Guardiola’s side have been heavily linked with a move for Andrea Cambiaso in recent months, but they have now verbally agreed personal terms with his Juventus team-mate Savona.

That is according to Foot Mercato, who claim that Savona is eager to join Man City this summer, although he remains the club’s third choice right-back target, behind Flamengo’s Wesley and Newcastle United’s Valentino Livramento.

While Savona has reportedly agreed to join Man City this summer, the eight-time Premier League champions are yet to finalise a deal with Juventus and they may still opt to pursue a deal for Cambiaso, Wesley or Livramento instead.

Savona, 22, has made 36 appearances across all competitions for Juventus so far this season, notching two goals and providing one assist.

The Italian defender still has four years remaining on his current contract at Juventus, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €17.7 million.

Man City’s summer transfer plans

Man City spent €218m on five new players during the January transfer window - Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Juma Bah - and they are set to be backed in the market yet again this summer.

Guardiola’s side have been linked with numerous top players in recent months, including Diogo Costa, Morgan Gibbs-White and Adam Wharton, although they will lose club legend Kevin De Bruyne on a Bosman deal at the end of June.

Kyle Walker is also expected to depart the Etihad Stadium on a permanent deal, following his loan spell at AC Milan, while John Stones and Bernardo Silva may be offloaded too as Man City look to continue a major overhaul of the first-team squad at Guardiola’s disposal.
