Chelsea Transfer News Today: Sesko talks confirmed as Arsenal hijack takes place

FootballTransfers runs through all the latest Chelsea transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Benjamin Sesko and Jamie Gittens.
Benjamin Sesko talks
Chelsea are reportedly among the clubs in talks to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko this summer.
The Blues are searching for a new centre forward to compete with Nicolas Jackson and TBR Football claim they have now entered talks with the Slovenian’s representatives over a potential summer transfer.
Sesko has scored 21 goals in all competitions so far this season, and Arsenal and Liverpool are also monitoring his situation in Germany.
Jamie Gittens update
Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Jamie Gittens has informed his team-mates that he is set to leave the club this summer, according to Ruhr Nachrichten.
The England U21 international has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in recent weeks and the Blues are expected to intensify their pursuit of his signature ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
However, Arsenal are reportedly now in pole position to land Gittens as Mikel Arteta looks to bring a new left winger to the club. The Gunners are firmly in the race to sign the 20-year-old and Gittens believes a move to the Emirates Stadium may be better for his development than a Stamford Bridge switch.

Christopher Nkunku to leave
Christopher Nkunku has struggled for game time since the appointment of Enzo Maresca and Fabrizio Romano has confirmed there is a “strong possibility” he will leave Chelsea this summer.
The Frenchman has been unable to work his way into the preferred starting XI this campaign and a summer exit is now expected to take place.
Bayern Munich have been tipped to rekindle their interest after eyeing a potential deal in January, while Arsenal and Manchester United have also been linked.
Cole Palmer to join Man Utd?
Cole Palmer is reportedly open to a shock move to Man Utd, despite the fact he still has eight years remaining on his current contract at Chelsea.
The England international scored his first goal for 18 games during Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Liverpool on Sunday, however he would be open to joining Man Utd at some point in the future, according to Miguel Delaney.
Palmer is a boyhood Man Utd fan, although he spent the entirety of his youth career at their arch-rivals Manchester City.
Real Madrid competition
Real Madrid sent scouts to watch Chelsea targets Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez in action against Arsenal on Saturday, as per TBR Football.
The former scored an equaliser for Bournemouth in the 67th minute, while the latter helped keep Bukayo Saka quiet with another impressive performance at left-back.
Chelsea are known admirers of both players, but Real Madrid are ready to challenge them this summer.

Romeo Lavia praise
Enzo Maresca has hailed Romeo Lavia following his performance against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
The Belgium international has struggled with consistent injury problems since joining Chelsea from Southampton in 2023, but he played a starring role versus Arne Slot’s side and Maresca was quick to heap praise on him after the match.
“Unfortunately he has been injured for most part of the season,” the Chelsea boss told reporters.
“You can see that the team with Romeo in is a better team. Hopefully we can now keep him fit until the end [of the season]."
