Arsenal plot William Saliba swap deal

Arsenal are interested in reaching an agreement with Real Madrid over a swap deal involving William Saliba and Rodrygo, according to a sensational report in Spain.
The Gunners are set to sign a new left winger during the 2025 summer transfer window and they have identified Rodrygo as a possible alternative to first-choice target Nico Williams in recent weeks, amid his uncertain future at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Brazil international is reportedly unhappy with his current role at Los Blancos and Arsenal are now monitoring his situation, as per multiple reports, ahead of a possible summer bid.
Spanish outlet Defensa Central even claim that Mikel Arteta’s side have offered Real Madrid the chance to sign Saliba in exchange for Rodrygo.
Saliba, 24, is one of Real Madrid’s priority centre-back targets and they remain interested in completing a deal for the Frenchman, despite confirmation of Dean Huijsen’s imminent move from Bournemouth.
However, Florentino Perez has rejected Arsenal’s reported proposal as he believes Rodrygo’s transfer value is currently higher than Saliba’s, while the France international will be available on a Bosman deal in 2027.
Real Madrid are therefore expected to rekindle their interest in Saliba next summer, if he rejects the opportunity to sign a new contract at Arsenal, as they look to bolster the defensive options available to Xabi Alonso.

Rodrygo to leave Real Madrid?
Rodrygo has scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in 50 appearances for Real Madrid so far this season, but he is reportedly unhappy with his role at the club and he is eager to depart during the upcoming summer transfer window.
In addition to Arsenal, the Brazilian also has suitors in Saudi Arabia, while Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are all interested in signing him, according to Spanish outlet Diario AS.
