Cole Palmer warned off Arsenal by Man Utd legend

Cole Palmer's form has stood in stark contrast to Chelsea's, but he shouldn't let any frustration cloud his judgement according to Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke.

Palmer has been an unprecedented success since his £40 million arrival from Manchester City last summer, matching former teammate Erling Haaland for a Premier League-high 20 goals as well as adding nine assists.

But the Blues have otherwise had the blues around him, and currently languish in ninth, 12 points off the European places.

Interest in the recent England cap is understandably high, but Yorke doesn't think Palmer would be served well by jumping ship to Arsenal, or anywhere else.

"There would be no point in Cole Palmer leaving Chelsea for Arsenal because they're not winning any trophies either, it wouldn't make any difference," he told Crypto Casino. "He wouldn't go to Liverpool who will be transitioning under a new manager and team…

Zidane to Chelsea?

"My advice for Palmer is to stay at Chelsea. Imagine Zinedine Zidane goes to Chelsea next year and Palmer leaves, it wouldn't work out for him.

"Also, it's only his first full professional season, let's see if he can do it over multiple years."

Palmer is valued at €33.1m (£28m) by FootballTransfers' in-house algorithm, but his trajectory is clear and it would take an astronomical bid for Chelsea to part ways with their best player, who is under contract until 2030 - with a club option of one more year!

Yorke left Aston Villa for Man Utd for £12.6m in 1998 and went on to form brilliant strike partnership with Andy Cole, winning three Premier Leagues and a Champions League. He doesn't see United as a destination for Palmer either, though.

"I'd love Man United to sign him," he said. "But I don't think that will be the case because of his Man City connection, he's too young to deal with that."
