Cole Palmer cemented his status as the Premier League's biggest breakout player against Everton.

The Chelsea youngster netted a spectacular 29-minute hattrick against the Toffees in the first half, needing just 16 minutes between goal number one and goal number three.

After the break, the England international netted again to become the first Chelsea player to score four goals in a single game since Frank Lampard did in 2010. In doing so, Palmer took his league tally for the season up to an incredible 20 goals, meaning that he is now level with Golden Boot favourite Erling Haaland. The two were, of course, teammates last season and this outing from Palmer will have again hammered home what a huge mistake selling him was by Man City.

His first three goals against Everton saw Palmer net his second hattrick in as many Chelsea home games after notching three in that crazy 4-3 victory over Man Utd. The 21-year-old already has more Premier League hattricks than the likes of Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka and as many as legends such as Steven Gerrard, Paul Scholes and Eden Hazard.
