Juventus fans have taken to social media and the streets to protest against their club's negotiations with Romelu Lukaku.

The transfer saga surrounding the Belgian has taken a massive twist in recent days. Inter, where Lukaku spent the last season on loan, had grown increasingly optimistic about striking a deal for the striker following the big-money departures of Marcelo Brozovic and Andrea Pinamonti.

Chelsea are keen to offload the former €115 million man as soon as possible and had been locked into tense talks with the Nerrazzuri for weeks, but a breakthrough appeared imminent. That was until it was revealed that Lukaku had also been negotiating with Inter's bitter rivals Juventus, who decided to swoop due to the apparent impasse that the talks had previously reached.

Inter were left infuriated by the news and broke off contact with the player and Chelsea, ostensibly giving Juventus a free run at Lukaku as the 30-year-old only has ambitions to remain in Europe despite Saudi offers. Juventus fans, however, are not happy about these developments.

Juventus fans outraged

Some sections of the Bianconeri faithful are not keen on seeing Lukaku suit up in the famous black and white of Juventus. This has been made clear, in public and on social media.

Dozens of Juve fans were spotted outside of the club's headquarters chanting "We don't want Lukaku," while many fans also took to Twitter to express their displeasure with the striker and with club management. Calls for head coach Max Allegri to leave were also among the chorus of dissatisfaction.

One mustn't neglect to mention that it was a section of Juventus supporters who racially abused Lukaku earlier in the year in the Coppa Italia, which resulted in a partial stadium ban.

Despite the fan protests, Juventus are likely to press ahead with the negotiations should Dusan Vlahovic depart Turin.
