Manchester United will be attentive to the chaos at Bayern Munich as it could give their transfer business a boost.

The Bavarians were once again crowned German champions on Saturday, yet some of Bayern's leading figures had little to celebrate. Moments after the title was confirmed, club legend Oliver Kahn and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic were relieved of their duties.

Though Bayern have won the Bundesliga for an 11th consecutive time, the manner in which they did it - having to hope for Dortmund to slip up on the final day - was deemed not good enough. As a tumultuous season in Bavaria comes to an end, it is the Premier League that could stand to gain the most from the upheaval.

That is because Salihamidzic had several big-name Premier League players on his shortlist, but Bayern may have to drop their interest given the uncertainty surrounding the club's sporting leadership and the potential costs involved.

Kane a legitimate target

Though a move always appeared somewhat unrealistic, journalist Christian Falk claims that Harry Kane was actually a legitimate target of Salihamidzic, describing a potential move as a 'serious transfer idea.'

Due to his massive price tag, however, it is unclear whether Bayern will continue to pursue the Tottenham star, which could open the door for Manchester United. The Red Devils themselves, however, may be put off by Spurs' valuation given his age and the uncertainty over next season's budget.

With the takeover saga still rumbling on, it is understood that Erik ten Hag will struggle to finance any real marquee signings despite the fact that bringing in a world-class number nine has always been a priority for the Dutchman.

If the situation isn't resolved quickly, cheaper alternatives may have to be found and it could jeopardise United's ambitions of getting back to the top of the Premier League next season. In that case, Kane may, after all, remain in North London for the foreseeable future.
