Alexis Sanchez is 'keen' on a return to the Premier League.

The former Manchester United attacker becomes a free agent this summer. The Chilean star has enjoyed something of a revival with Marseille, but it doesnt’ appear likely that he will be getting fresh terms.

In his inaugural campaign in Ligue 1, has helped guide Marseille to third place in the table, behind winners Paris Saint-Germain and Lens.

He has scored 14 goals and assisted three times so far this season - and now he is on the lookout for a way back to the Premier League, reports The Sun.

The 34-year-old enjoyed a superb spell at Arsenal - scoring 80 times and providing 45 assists in 166 games for the Gunners between 2014 and 2018 - but his relationship with the fans soured after some poor displays and the fact he eventually opted to sign for rivals Man Utd.

But Sanchez had a poor spell at Man Utd, where he scored just five goals and made nine assists in 45 games.

He was quickly shipped off to Inter on loan in 2019 and his deal there became permanent.

Thereafter he moved to Marseille for a stint in France. And now is looking for a new challenge.

Sanchez has even revealed that he was set to join Manchester City from Arsenal, but the switch never happened "Everything was ready, there was a player who was going to go to Arsenal.

"Then [Arsene] Wenger tells me you are not leaving because the other player did not want to come and they do not have another. Suddenly the cell phone rings. (Jose) Mourinho tells me: 'Alexis, here is the seven [shirt] available for you.'"
