The 27-year-old Mexico star moved to Serie A from PSV in 2019 and has scored 23 goals in 112 games in Italy's top flight.

He has helped Napoli to a 15-point lead at the top of the Serie A table and is a big favourite with the Neapolitan fans, scoring four goals and creating four more in all competitions this season.

However, Lozano's contract is set to expire in 2024 and that could force his club to cash out this summer rather than risk losing him for nothing.

During his time at PSV, Lozano was often linked with a move to the Premier League, and these rumours have resurfaced once again with his future in Italy in doubt.

Several clubs have been closely associated with the player. Arsenal, Newcastle and Everton have all been linked with Lozano in recent months and now there is a new name in the hat for the Mexico City-born winger.

Journalist Raffaele Auriemma has told Radio CRC that the Blues are also interested in what could be a €50 million transfer deal.

He said: “Chelsea like the Mexican footballer as the Blues manager [Graham Potter] likes this kind of winger.

“In this case, the Neapolitan club can collect €50 million and pay it in cash to Sassuolo's coffers to take Arnaud Lauriente and Davide Frattesi.”

Will Chelsea really make a transfer bid for Lozano?/h2>Hahah

Just how much drive Chelsea will have to sign the Mexico star is questionable, though.

The Blues have spent lavishly over the course of the last two transfer windows and have picked up a number of attacking midfielders to such an extent they are saturated in that area right now.

Furthermore, they have primarily focused on signing young players on long-term contracts.

However, Lozano may be seen as attractive due to the marketing power that he has in Mexico and among Mexicans, which could be appealing to Chelsea’s American owners.
