Manchester United rejected the chance to sign nine players this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Red Devils spent a massive €245 million on new players during the transfer window, bringing in a host of players.

These players include Antony from Ajax for €100m, Real Madrid legend Casemiro, Ajax’s Lisandro Martinez, Feyenoord’s Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen on a free transfer, and Martin Dubravka on loan from Newcastle.

But United turned down the chance to sign many more stars.

What players did Man Utd reject?

Fabrizio Romano revealed on his YouTube channel that United were offered their former player Memphis Depay from Barcelona but Erik ten Hag was not interested.

Depay wasn’t the only Barcelona player rejected by Ten Hag as he also said no to Sergino Dest, who moved on loan to Milan instead.

They also snubbed Christian Pulisic from Chelsea, a player Man Utd have tried to sign in the past.

And United also rejected a third American in the form of Weston McKennie from Juventus.

Leandro Paredes joined Juventus in the last days of the window, but only after Manchester United had been offered him.

Yannick Carrasco has been a former target of Man Utd and he was offered to Ten Hag, but the Dutch manager only had eyes for Antony as his winger.

Three other players that Man Utd were handed the opportunity to sign were Borussia Dortmund’s Thomas Meunier, Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and Napoli’s Hirving Lozano.

Man Utd have recovered well in 2022-23 after a dismal start to the new season.

They lost their opening two matches of the campaign to Brighton and Brentford but then embarked on a four-match winning run in the Premier League, taking them to fifth in the table.

This included impressive wins at home against Liverpool and Arsenal.
