Arsenal have been resurgent since the start of the 2022-23 season thanks to some shrewd work in the transfer market and the continued emergence of some impressive young players, but contract issues still persist.
Mikel Arteta has benefitted from significant investment in his playing squad over the past few summers, which has seen the Gunners become one of the biggest spenders in the market, yet they have reaped the rewards of this on the pitch.
In order to continue their development, the Gunners will now have to make some smart decisions over the contracts of those members of their playing staff. Who needs to be tied down for longer and who needs to follow in the footsteps of Alexandre Lacazatte and be let go in the summer?

The top priority of Arteta and technical director Edu earlier in 2023 was to work on extending Bukayo Saka's deal at the club. In May 2023 that goal was reached, with Saka signing a new four-year deal until 2027.
Declan Rice signed a five-year deal upon joining from West Ham for €116.6 million, while William Saliba penned a new contract until 2027 back in July 2023.
The Gunners have done well to extend their young stars' deals - 13 players have contracts until 2027 or later - but they must still keep a keen eye on the contract situations of their players.
