Tottenham are through to the fifth round of the FA Cup and Harry Kane spoke to the media after netting twice in his side’s 3-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday night. The centre-forward was happy with that win and feels confident that Spurs can go deep into this competition, after also reaching the semi-finals of the League Cup earlier this campaign.

In Kane’s mind, there has been a change in the atmosphere at Tottenham and the captain puts this down to the arrival of Antonio Conte.

“[Conte] has been brilliant and I cannot speak highly enough of him, as he has really changed the mindset of the team,” Kane said in a post-match interview on Saturday night. “We have to keep working hard on and off the pitch. There is still a long way to go this season. We have plenty of games coming up in the league and cup.”

Conte wants to win a trophy for Tottenham

Tottenham haven’t won a piece of silverware since lifting the League Cup back in 2008, so Conte wants to put that right and finish 2021/22 with a title. Spurs’ only hope of silverware this season is the FA Cup, so the Italian coach plans to take this tournament very seriously.

“To win in an important competition like the FA Cup is so important,” Conte said after Saturday night’s fourth round win. “It is important for the confidence, important to get a win against a really good team. We have to continue and now we prepare for a tough [Premier League] game against Southampton on Wednesday.”

The draw for the fifth round of the FA Cup has already taken place this Sunday and Tottenham now know that they’ll take on Middlesbrough away.
