Inter Milan have put an asking price of €50 million on Manchester United and Chelsea-target Denzel Dumfries, FootballTransfers understands.

The Nerazzurri wish to sell Dumfries at the end of the season for two major reasons.

First of all, Inter’s Chinese owners Suning are in financial trouble and need to make a transfer profit of €60m by the end of the financial year on June 30.

Dumfries is one of the few players who can raise the cash required to reach that amount.

Secondly, Dumfries has lost his place in the Inter starting XI this season.

He enjoyed an excellent first campaign at San Siro after arriving from PSV in the summer of 2021, scoring five goals and providing six assists.

But he has endured a difficult second season, losing his starting place to Matteo Darmian.

Inter would thus like to upgrade the right wing-back position.

Both Man Utd and Chelsea are interested in signing Dumfries in the summer, with Erik ten Hag in particular known to be a huge fan of the Inter star.

United have made a new right back a priority in the summer window, while Chelsea are looking for an alternative to Reece James.

Dumfries is physically suited to the Premier League as he boasts strength, stamina, speed, aerial ability and boasts a goal threat.

How much will Dumfries cost?

Inter have set their asking price for Dumfries at €50m.

Given the inflated transfer fees that are paid in the Premier League, the Nerazzurri feel this is an obtainable amount.

However, they may be prepared to accept closer to €40m if negotiations move that way.

It would still represent an excellent profit for Inter, having signed Dumfries for just €15m, including bonuses.
