Huge blow for PSG as Kvaratskhelia suffers season-ending ACL injury
Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that star winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has suffered a season-ending anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The injury occurred during PSG's 4-2 victory against Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Just before the hour mark, the Georgian got into a collision with Barca's Xavi Espart and soon signalled to the bench that he was in trouble. He was subsequently given assistance to leave the pitch on his feet which was seen at the time as a positive sign, but PSG have revealed that he suffered a torn ACL.
Take a close look at Kvaratskhelia right kneel as it snaps. It looks like a serious injury here.

In a statement on their official website, PSG said: "Having suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during yesterday's match against FC Barcelona, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will undergo surgery in the coming days."
A return date has not been revealed at this early stage but it is likely he will miss the rest of the 2026/27 season as PSG strive to win their third Champions League title in a row.
Indeed, Kvaratskhelia was named the Champions League player of the season as PSG won in 2025/26.
Nicknamed “Kvaradona” by some following his impact at Napoli, the Georgian winger signed for PSG in January of 2025 for an initial fee of €70m.
His time at PSG has been hugely successful. He helped the club win the Champions League in 2025, scoring in the final against Inter Milan, before playing a key role in their 2025/26 European campaign as they won again, beating Arsenal on penalties.
His goal against Inter saw him become the first Georgian ever to score in a major European final.
