PSG stars hit back at Barca: 'We don't give a damn what you think of us'
Paris Saint-Germain stars Gonzalo Ramos and Vitinha have hit back at pre-match comments made by Barcelona's Pedri and Vitinha.
On Wednesday, PSG displayed their immense class to win 2-1 away at Camp Nou despite having key men Ousmane Dembele, Marquinhos, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
and Desire Doue absent.
In the Champions League clash, Barcelona took the lead through Ferran Torres only for Senny Mayulu to equalise just before the break.
It looked like the points were going to be shared, but substitute Ramos popped up in injury time to score the winner with a neat finish after getting beyond the Barca backline.
Pre-match, Yamal posted a picture of himself on Instagram with the caption: “Pressure? I’m back and the mission is back too.”
Pedri, meanwhile, said: “PSG is a team that already showed last season what it was, one of the best teams in the world, and I consider us to be the best.”
PSG certainly proved on the night that they are still the team to be beat in Europe and it seems those pre-match comments from the Barca pair struck a nerve.
Following the win, Ramos told reporters: “We're the European champions, I can't say more than that. If you're the best, you have to show it on the pitch, not talk.”
Vitinha was a bit more scathing in his analysis.
“It happens sometimes," the Portuguese midfielder explained.
"There are often statements made before matches, and it can happen. We don't give a damn. We don't care, we just want to play the match, we won, and we're happy about that.”
Next up for PSG is a potentially tough trip to Lille, while Barcelona are away to Sevilla this weekend.
