Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Junior is ready to leave the club after the ‘complete breakdown’ of contract negotiations, with an inside source at the Bernabeu revealing the startling truth of what’s going on behind the scenes.

Vini Jr has been in contract talks with Los Blancos for months now, with tension gradually being ramped up as his deal edges closer to the 2027 expiry date.

Real Madrid will not let it wind down that far as they do not want to lose such a valuable player as a free agent, meaning that summer 2026 is effectively the deadline for the player to sign a new deal.

The Brazilian, though, has a fragile relationship with head coach Xabi Alonso. This was exposed during El Clasico, when he reacted angrily to being substituted.

And for Real Madrid’s hierarchy, this appears to have been the final straw, with Vini Jr put up for sale with an asking price of €150 million.

Sky Sport Switzerland transfer insider Sacha Tavolieri has revealed just how difficult the situation is between Alonso and the Brazil international.

One source close to the Real Madrid dressing room claims: “It is very difficult to imagine that Vinicius will still be at Madrid next season.”

Vini Jr has been left frustrated due to inconsistent playing time and repeatedly being substituted off – a clear indication that he is not as high in Alonso’s thoughts as team-mate Kylian Mbappe, who also receives a bigger wage.

Transfer interest building in Vini Jr

Vini Jr continues to be heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, where there has been long-standing interest in the 25-year-old Brazil winger.

If there was previously talk of a world-record transfer fee for the former Flamengo youth, that now appears to have disappeared. A big-money move remains a distinct possibility.

There are few other clubs capable of paying €150m for Vini Jr, though.

Manchester City have emerged as another possibility, with Pep Guardiola said to have asked the board to make a move for the player.

The interest of the Cityzens is noted by Tavolieri, who claims that the Premier League giants are simply “watching from a distance” – at least for now.
