Alphonso Davies has been told he has until next week to accept Bayern Munich’s proposal over a new deal.

Sky Germany has reported that the left-back has a time limit on whether he will accept the Bundesliga giant’s offer of around €14million a year.

The Canada international and his advisors are hoping for €20m and it’s not clear yet whether he would be willing to accept a lower amount.

If Davies knocks back the offer, he will be put up for sale by Bayern ahead of the upcoming transfer window, the club having set a €50m price tag for him.

The youngster’s contract is up in 2025 and Real Madrid have been extensively linked, though it’s thought that the La Liga giants are unwilling to pay that amount at present.

Bayern had lost high-profile stars such as David Alaba and Niklas Sule to free transfers and they are hoping not for a repeat.

But Real Madrid are hoping to land Davies for cheap this summer, or even for free next summer.

ESPN journalist Rodrigo Faez reported that Los Blancos are prepared to wait another year to acquire his services on a free transfer, which would mean added pressure on the Bundesliga champions to either make a sale or close a fresh deal before his current deal is up next year.

Bayern hope for Davies answer soon

Bayern’s director of sport, Max Eberl, told Bild: “Negotiations have been ongoing for some time, but then came to a standstill last summer. We’re dealing with the issue.

“We have made Alphonso a very concrete, appreciative offer. At some point in your life, you have to say yes or no.”

Should the 23-year-old leave the Allianz Arena, it’s reported that the club target Milan’s Theo Hernandez as his replacement this summer transfer window.
