The EIGHT Real Madrid stars with 12 months left on their contract
Real Madrid are at a crossroads with a number of their first-team squad, as eight players will see their contracts expire in 2024.
This puts Madrid in a tricky position where they must decide whether to sell some important stars or risk losing them on a free transfer.
What Real Madrid players are out of contract in 2024?
Madrid have two football legends who see their contracts expire in 2024; Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.
Both players are deep in their thirties now; Modric is 37 and Kroos is 33.
Both stars now have one-year rolling contracts at the Santiago Bernabeu.
They recently signed new one-year contracts after their previous deals were set to run out in 2023.
As always, they will be assessed again in May 2024 over whether to hand further one-year deals.
Two more long-serving Madrid veterans are out of contract next year; Lucas Vazquez and Nacho Fernandez.
It is highly unlikely Vazquez, 32, will sign a new deal. Indeed he is available for sale this summer.
Nacho, meanwhile, was close to leaving this summer on a free transfer when his previous contract expired. But he signed a one-year extension. Now 33, there is a good chance this will be his last Madrid contract.
New signing Joselu is on loan from Espanyol in 2023-24 but Madrid have the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.
Alvaro Odriozola is for sale this summer and is surplus to requirements at Madrid. If they cannot find a buyer he will leave on a free transfer in 2024.
The final two players who are out of contract in 2024 are backup goalkeeper Andriy Lubin and young midfielder Antonio Blanco.
