Joao Felix has been linked with a move away from Atletico Madrid in recent weeks having seen game time limited over the last few weeks.

The Portuguese hasn’t had the best time at the Spanish club and has reportedly had a fall out with coach Diego Simeone recently, suggesting he may be up for a move away from the club.

Felix moved to Atletico Madrid in 2019 in a record move as he replaced Antoine Griezmann, but things haven’t worked out quite as planned.

Now, amid Manchester United’s interest, there has been a revelation which suggests he may end up staying in the Spanish capital.

Manchester United suffer Felix blow

Doubts were raised earlier in the season when Simeone wasn’t utilizing Felix in important moments of the season and that led to speculation over his departure.

The forward was rarely used in important Champions League games as Atletico Madrid were knocked out of Europe entirely and that cast further doubt.

To add to it, Simeone seemingly criticized Felix’s attitude and training methods and that led to rumours of a rift between the two.

Manchester United have been interested as they are lacking in forward options, with Marcus Rashford playing there as Anthony Martial struggles for fitness and Cristiano Ronaldo’s future is still unclear.

However, Hugo Felix, Joao’s brother, has spoken about his Atletico Madrid stint: "I think João is happy. In the last three games he scored three goals. There is nothing better for a player than scoring goals."

It’s believed that if Atletico Madrid do sell Joao Felix, they will demand a big fee for him and will want to make most of what they paid for him in 2019.

They will also be hoping an impressive World Cup drives up suitors in case the player does want a move and judging by their financial situation, they could do with the additional income.
