Erling Haaland could be available for €180 million in 2024 according to some reports, but Manchester City have no intention of seeing their start striker leave for Real Madrid, or anyone else, at that point.

Haaland has hit the ground breaking the land speed record since swapping Borussia Dortmund for City in June, scoring 14 Premier League goals at a barely fathomable rate of one every 47 minutes he has played.

Alan Shearer and Andy Cole share the single-season Premier League goal record with 34 goals. Haaland, at this rate, would have 71 by the end of the campaign.

Whilst his rumoured release clause would be three times the value City paid for the Norwegian goal-machine, according to Goal.com, it simply doesn't exist.

"The Norwegian striker signed a five-year contract with Manchester City in May and the deal does include various different clauses," they write.

'No specific clause'

"However, there is no specific termination clause in the contract which would allow the forward to sign for Real Madrid if Los Blancos were interested in acquiring the player, GOAL can confirm. There is also no exclusive clause by which Madrid could sign Haaland for less money than other clubs."

Haaland's father Alfie - a former Man City midfielder who now acts on his son's behalf - previously spoke about a potential move to Real Madrid.

"In my opinion, City is the best team on our list," he said in Viaplay's 'Haaland - The Big Decision' which was recorded before Erling made his move. "Bayern Munich is number two.

"We have Real Madrid number three, Paris Saint-Germain number four. We also have some English teams other than City that are pretty good… Liverpool and Chelsea. Then there's Barcelona. They're kind of in the same row."

More recently, he joked that Haaland could continue to change league every few years having already scored goals in Norway, Austria, Germany and now England.
