Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen has greenlit a loan move to sister club Strasbourg.

The Denmark international is poised to become the latest star to move between the two BlueCo sides, with the news of his impending transfer coming mere hours after academy star Genesis Antwi moved to Strasbourg.

Jorgensen has been determined to leave Chelsea since January. At the time, he sought regular playing time in a bid to become Denmark's No.1 ahead of possible World Cup qualification.

In the end, Denmark neither qualified for the tournament nor did Jorgensen secure a transfer, with Chelsea reluctant to sanction a mid-season exit. However, heading into the summer, it was apparent that the situation was becoming untenable.

Signed for €24.5 million from Villarreal in 2024, the 24-year-old has failed to dislodge Robert Sanchez. With Mike Penders now at Chelsea following the conclusion of his Strasbourg loan, Jorgensen has become surplus to requirements.

Jorgensen to join Strasbourg

It was initially expected that the Dane would be sold, but according to the BBC, he is willing to join Strasbourg on loan. Sources are describing the move as already being "99% certain."

Jorgensen left Chelsea's pre-season tour of Australia and Asia last week in order to resolve his future. He is now set to move to Alsace, where he will become Strasbourg's new No.1 following Penders' return to Chelsea.

After Antwi, he will become the second Chelsea player to be loaned to Strasbourg this summer, meaning that only one more player can be temporarily parked at the French club.

This player could be Mykhailo Mudryk, who is now eligible to play again after winning his legal battle over a doping suspension. Having not played in 18 months, the Ukraine international may require a loan before he is ready to feature for Chelsea again.

Strasbourg are known to be among the clubs interested in the winger, though he also has admirers elsewhere, including in the Premier League. New boys Coventry, coached by Chelsea legend Frank Lampard, are chasing Mudryk.

A move within England would not take up one of the Blues' precious international loan spots. Mudryk's future remains uncertain, but that of Jorgensen is on the verge of being resolved, with the goalkeeper set to become the 15th player to move between Chelsea and Strasbourg.
