Manchester United are reportedly set to reject Barcelona’s bid to re-sign Marcus Rashford on another loan deal this summer.

The England international moved to Camp Nou on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy for €30 million last year and he has enjoyed an impressive 2025-26 campaign to date, despite not always being included in Hansi Flick’s preferred starting XI.

Rashford has scored 10 goals and provided 13 assists in 38 games across all competitions so far this season, and reports have previously confirmed that Barcelona are eager to complete a permanent deal when the 2026 summer transfer window opens.

However, rumours in the Spanish media now suggest that newly re-elected Barcelona president Joan Laporta is keen to bring Rashford back to the club on another loan deal, rather than trigger the €30m buy clause.

The Blaugrana are still hamstrung by financial issues and they want to finalise a second loan spell for Rashford in order to save transfer funds for their pursuit of a new central defender and a long-term replacement for ageing striker Robert Lewandowski.

However, Man Utd will reject a second loan deal, according to The Mirror.

Marcus Rashford plan

It’s reported that Man Utd have no intention of sending Rashford on another loan spell away from the club, and Barcelona will therefore be required to pay the €30m buy option clause if they want him in their first-team squad next season.

If the Blaugrana opt against finalising a permanent deal, The Mirror report that Man Utd would be prepared to sell Rashford to the highest bidder this summer.

In fact, the Red Devils reportedly believe they could offload the England forward for close to €58m (£50m) if Barcelona decide against agreeing a deal, as his form in La Liga has increased his value in the market.

Rashford, for what it’s worth, is understood to be keen on a permanent move to Barcelona, despite the fact he is currently behind Lamine Yamal and Raphinha in the pecking order.
