Transfer Rumours: Kylian Mbappe makes demand as Man Utd receive unexpected update
The rumour mill continues to churn ahead of the January transfer window as clubs across world football begin to finalise their plans in the market.
Below, FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours from 11 November, including the latest updates on Kylian Mbappe and Elliot Anderson.
Kylian Mbappe demand
Kylian Mbappe has asked Real Madrid to sell Vinicius Junior next summer, according to a blockbuster report in Spain.
Vinicius has registered nine goal contributions in 16 appearances across all competitions so far this season, however Mbappe is “fed up” with the 25-year-old and has recommended to Florentino Perez that Real Madrid sell him next summer.
That is according to Spanish publication El Nacional, who claim that Mbappe believes Real Madrid should offload Vinicius and use the funds generated from a sale to sign a new centre forward. This would allow the Frenchman to be deployed as a left winger.
Unexpected Elliot Anderson price tag
Manchester United have reportedly registered “concrete interest” in Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.
Ruben Amorim’s side failed to secure a replacement for the departed Christian Eriksen this summer and they have identified the central midfield position as a key area in need of improvement in 2026.
Anderson currently boasts an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €61.7 million, however Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has confirmed on X that Man Utd may need to pay as much as €136m to sign him.
Chelsea chase Julian Alvarez
Chelsea could reportedly hijack Barcelona’s bid to sign Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez next summer.
It’s understood that he is open to leaving Diego Simeone’s side next year and Barcelona have identified him as their priority target to replace Robert Lewandowski.
Alvarez has scored nine goals and provided four assists in 15 appearances across all competitions so far this season, and his form has also caught the attention of the Chelsea hierarchy, according to The Chelsea Chronicle
Alex Scott to Man Utd?
Manchester United have joined the race to sign Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott in 2026.
That is according to Graeme Bailey, who claims that Scott has emerged onto INEOS’ radar amid Man Utd’s pursuit of at least one new midfielder in 2026.
The Red Devils were reportedly impressed by Scott’s development during his time at Championship side Bristol City and they have now stepped up their interest in his signature as rumours over a 2026 exit begin to intensify.
Nicolas Jackson update
Bayern Munich have no intention of allowing Nicolas Jackson to leave in January, despite speculation that a return to Chelsea could be on the cards.
The reigning Bundesliga champions are able to finalise a permanent deal for Jackson next year, although early speculation has suggested that he will return to Chelsea instead before being sold elsewhere.
This has been confirmed by German publication BILD, who have poured cold water on rumours that Jackson may leave Bavaria in January.
