Kylian Mbappe reaches stunning goal record at just 26 that is only bettered by Pele
The prodigious Kylian Mbappe has reached a stunning goalscoring record at the age of just 26.
On Thursday evening, France defeated Ukraine 4-0 with Mbappe getting on the scoresheet twice.
Those strikes took him to a quite remarkable tally of 400 career goals and he reached that milestone aged 26 years and 328 days.
That is the fastest any player has reached that milestone in the 21st century. In fact, the only player in history who can better Mbappe's achievement is the legendary Pele, who reached 400 goals at just 23 years old.
Kylian Mbappé has tonight scored his 400th senior goal for club and country:
◉ 27 - Monaco
◉ 55 - France
◉ 62 - Real Madrid
◉ 246 - PSG

The Frenchman has reached that tally faster than some of the greatest goalscorers of all time.
Cristiano Ronaldo was 28, Lionel Messi was 27, Robert Lewandowski was 30 and Harry Kane was 30 when they scored 400 career goals.
The lightning-quick forward scored 27 goals for Monaco, 246 for Paris Saint-Germain and is currently on 62 goals for Real Madrid and 55 for France.

Following the Ukraine win, which took France to the 2026 World Cup, Mbappe vowed to reach the 1000-goal milestone which Ronaldo is certain to reach soon:
"400 doesn't impress people, if you want to be in that circle that shocks people, you have to score another 400. Cristiano Ronaldo's 1,000 goals? That's unreal. But let's try the unreal, we have to try, we only have one career.
"I had to be the best version of myself so we could go to the World Cup. Last year was difficult for me with the national team, this season I had to show that the national team is important to me.
"On a mission? Everyone knows and can talk about football, but playing in a World Cup… only those who have played in it know that it's special, it's a privilege to represent your country in the eyes of the world."
There are parallels to be made between Pele's career and Mbappe's as not only are they the two fastest players to score 400 career goals, but in 2018 Mbappe became only the second teenager after the iconic Brazilian to score in a World Cup Final.
