Xabi Alonso reacts to Endrick transfer speculation amid Man Utd rumours
Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso has reacted to transfer speculation linking Endrick with a loan move to Manchester United during the January transfer window.
The 19-year-old is yet to make his first appearance of the season, despite returning from a thigh issue in mid-September, and he has been an unused substitute in Real Madrid’s last five matches in all competitions.
The Brazilian was mostly used as a substitute during his debut campaign at the Santiago Bernabeu, but his role with Los Blancos has diminished further since the appointment of Alonso and he has been heavily linked with a January departure.
French outlet L’Equipe have confirmed that Marseille are interested in finalising a deal for Endrick during the winter transfer window, while CaughtOffside claim that as many as eight clubs are eager to sign him on loan.
Man Utd are among the teams reportedly keeping tabs on Endrick’s situation ahead of a possible January transfer, although Alonso has now poured cold water on suggestions that a mid-season exit will be sanctioned.
Speaking ahead of his side’s La Liga clash against Getafe on Sunday evening, Alonso was asked whether Endrick or fellow striker Goncalo Garcia will be allowed to depart in January.
“That's not on my mind right now, it's not a consideration,” he told reporters. “They're both ready to play. It's a position where we have fantastic competition.”
Man Utd eye Endrick deal
Endrick is one of several strikers to have been linked with a move to Man Utd in recent weeks, with the Red Devils also reportedly eager to rekindle their interest in Crystal Palace superstar Jean-Philippe Mateta.
The France international was on Man Utd’s radar before the signing of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig in August, and they have now re-emerged as possible contenders to acquire his signature in 2026.
Mateta, 28, has scored five goals in eight Premier League games so far this season, including a hat-trick versus Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.
