Trent Alexander-Arnold BANNED from wearing preferred Real Madrid number by La Liga

Trent Alexander-Arnold will be banned from wearing his favoured No.66 shirt when he signs for Real Madrid.
The Liverpool star has worn this number since breaking into first team with the Anfield club and has become synonymous with that jersey.
La Liga will ban him from wearing that number when his move to Real Madrid is finally announced.
First-team squad members in La Liga are obliged to wear jersey numbers 1-25 in Spain’s top-flight, with other numbers put aside for reserve and youth team players.
As such, there is no possibility that Trent will continue in the No.66 shirt at the Bernabeu.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s jersey number at Real Madrid: What will it be?
It’s unclear what shirt number Trent will wear with Real Madrid.
La Liga expert Muhammad Butt has put forward a couple of theories as to the jersey that will be given to the England international.
“If I had to guess, they’ll move Eduardo Camavinga off No.6 to give to Trent or they’ll give him the 23 that David Beckham wore for marketing purposes,” he told FootballTransfers.
“If they sell Rodrygo, they could give the No.11 shirt to him.
“But there’s another outside shout because Luka Modric will probably leave at the end of the season.
“There’s an outside that Trent asks for him and they give him the No.10 shirt. I don’t think anyone else is particularly going to ask for it, apart from maybe Kylian Mbappe.”
So there are some interesting possibilities for Trent’s Real Madrid shirt number, but the only thing certain is that it will not be the 66 that he has been so associated with.
Why does Trent wear No.66?
Trent was assigned the No.66 shirt when he was promoted to the first team and has never chosen another shirt.
Liverpool kit manager Lee Radcliffe said: “When we get young lads coming into the first team, we just give them the next available number. Trent was given 66 – it was the next number available at the time. There was no rhyme or reason to it. It was just the number he was given.”
Alexander-Arnold has retained the No.66 as a reminder to remain humble.
“It’s a number that’s close to me now. No matter what other numbers become available, I don’t think I’ll switch,” the Liverpool defender said.
