Mbappe is the world’s best player - it’s crazy he’s heading to Madrid for free

Kylian Mbappe is the best player in the world and will join Real Madrid for free in the summer in what promises to be one of the transfer coups of the century.
Mbappe has already shown his mettle on numerous occasions this season as he has propped up a Paris Saint-Germain side that is purported to boast several offensive superstars but in fact has only one: himself.
While the Ligue 1 champions elect have been busy accumulating big-name stars to fill their ranks, they have contrived to overlook completing the business that would do their club the most good, namely tying Mbappe down to a new contract.

There are now just three months before his deal ends and he become a free agent. It is looking likely, but it is not yet quite inevitable, that he will leave for the Bernabeu.
PSG may be super rich but losing Mbappe on a free transfer will nonetheless sting their pride. There is, after all, little doubt he is their best player.
This was evident when PSG met Real Madrid in the Champions League. There were flashes from others around him, but the only truly class performance came from the World Cup winner who constantly tore into the Spaniards’ defence and made their players look little better than average.
Mbappe destroys South Africa
Perhaps it should come as little shock, then, that when tested against a modest South Africa team for France on Tuesday night, Mbappe was positively devastating. Even allowing for the standard of his opponents, the PSG attacker turned in a display of the highest quality.
His opening goal was simply stunning. Gathering possession on the left corner of the box, he showed incredible composure to bend a shot into the very top corner of the game, despite the presence of two quickly closing defenders. He would later score a second from the penalty spot, having won the kick himself with a dashing run.

But it was more than just his goals that impressed, his overall performance was outstanding. He had a hand in each of France’s five goals in a 5-0 success and touched the ball on 91 occasions – an outrageous volume of involvement for a player in his position.
L’Equipe, a notoriously harsh judge of players, gave his performance a rarely attained nine out of 10.
The one worry for Madrid
Perhaps the one worrying point for Real Madrid during this match was that Mbappe did most of his most devastating work down the left flank. With Vini Jr having excelled in that position this season, it will leave Carlo Ancelotti a difficult decision to make.
Of course, Mbappe has proven himself in other roles, but there is little doubt that his best performances tend to come off the left wing.
Those concerns are for another day, though. In the meantime, Real Madrid can simply salivate over the prospect of Mbappe, the greatest player in the world on current form, arriving for absolutely nothing in July.
