Serge Gnabry has been branded 'amateurish' by Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic after attending Paris Fashion Week on a recent day off.

Gnabry helped Bayern to a 1-1 draw against RB Leipzig last Friday, assisting Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting for the opening goal, but just two days later he was in Paris, where he was pictured in a headscarf, glitter jacket and denim suit at the fashion event.

Bayern were then held to a second consecutive share of the spoils on Tuesday, with Gnabry playing the first half of their 1-1 draw at home to Cologne, meaning his trip to Paris was squeezed in to say the least.

In parallel with the recent lacklustre results, Salihamidzic blew his lid at full-time.

Brazzo: 'it's amateurish!'

"It's amateurish, and it doesn't suit Bayern Munich," he stormed. "That's exactly what I don't like."

"On a day off, it's important to rest and not mess around somewhere else, to be able to step on the gas for the next game. We'll talk about that tomorrow. Of course there's a need for discussion."

Gnabry, who came through Arsenal's youth academy, was linked with a return to London last summer, with the Gunners and Chelsea both touted as potential suitors before he signed a new four-year contract at the Allianz Arena last July.

But they should now be paying close attention to Gnabry's situation at Bayern. As well as his off-field discrepancies, Gnabry has seen his position in the team come under increasing pressure from Jamal Musiala this season.

Leroy Sane has also played more minutes in the Bundesliga than Gnabry, and the suspicion is the same would have been true for Sadio Mane - a €41 million arrival from Liverpool last summer - had injury not interfered with the Senegal forward's progress.

Gnabry remains a potent attacking asset, with 10 goals and 11 assists in all competitions this season, as is rated at €46.6m by FootballTransfers' in-house algorithm.
