Ghanaian witch doctor has 'cursed' Harry Kane ahead of World Cup clash
Ghana’s most famous witch doctor plans to “curse” England captain Harry Kane before the two nations meet in the World Cup group stages on Tuesday.
Ghana kicked off their 2026 World Cup campaign with a crucial 1-0 win over Panama thanks to a last-minute winner from Caleb Yirenkyi and they head into the final two group stage fixtures knowing that one point will likely be enough to qualify for the round of 32.
They will undoubtedly be underdogs when they take on Thomas Tuchel’s England side in Boston on Tuesday, but Nana Kwaku Bonsam - whose name translates as ‘Devil of Wednesday’ - has promised to help his nation by cursing the aforementioned Kane, who scored twice against Croatia last week.
The Bayern Munich striker is one of the main contenders for the 2026 Ballon d’Or and will be England’s main man again versus Ghana, however Bonsam plans to stop him via an unusual method.
The witch doctor told The Daily Star: “I am working on Harry Kane. I have shown what I am capable of before so I know what work I must do to stop him. I am very famous for my predictions.
“I am not wishing him serious injury. It will be just enough to stop him against my country. I will do my work so that it can help Ghana.”

Cristiano Ronaldo one of Nana Kwaku Bonsam’s previous victims
Bonsam boasted that he was responsible for Cristiano Ronaldo’s knee problems during the 2014 World Cup, although the Portugal legend still scored during a 2-1 win over Ghana at the tournament.
“I know what Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury is about, I’m working on him. I am very serious about it,” Bonsam said at the time.
“Last week, I went around looking for four dogs and I got them to be used in manufacturing a special spirit called Kahwiri Kapam. I said it four months ago that I will work on Cristiano Ronaldo seriously and rule him out of the World Cup or at least prevent him from playing against Ghana and the best thing I can do is to keep him out through injury.
“This injury can never be cured by any medic, they can never see what is causing the injury because it is spiritual. Today, it is his knee, tomorrow it is his thigh, next day it is something else.”
